Kylie's version of The Loco-Motion was released worldwide in the Summer of 1988. The first version Kylie recorded of the song was released in Australia, the previous year. The new version of the Little Eva cover was re-recorded and produced by SAW, unlike Kylie's first version. The Loco-Motion became a big hit, and Kylie earned her first top ten hit in the United States peaking at #3, Kylie also went on a promotional trip to the U.S. to promote the single. The Loco-Motion was the highest debut for a female artist on the UK singles chart at the time of its release, beating Madonna's record.
